Karnal Police, has a separate Traffic Police Station and its office is situated in Sec-6, Karnal. Traffic Police Station is headed by DSP HQ.The incharge of Police Station Traffic is an Inspector. Traffic Police Station on Highways called TPS and is situated at NH-1. The jurisdiction of Traffic Police Station is from Gharaunda to Nilokheri on NH-1. Traffic Police Station has 2 Interceptor vehicles, 4 Ambulances and 1 crain, 04 PCR Vehicles and 06 motor cycles at Police assistance both.
Traffic equipments are issued to Traffic Officials for their safety and for better Traffic Management. Constables are deployed at NH-1 in night with helmet, reflective jacket and light bar to regulate traffic. To avoid accidents, barricades are being used to slow down the traffic. Challans are issued by both Interceptor vehicles and Highways PCR vehicles at different places on highway to minimize the accidents Four Ambulances are always ready to shift the injured persons immediately to hospital.

Free reflectors being fixed on vehicles with the help of various social organizations. Free medical checkup and eye checkup of Three Wheeler drivers, Truck drivers & Police drivers. First Aid training to Police drivers & other officials. For Signal free smooth traffic, U-turns on NH-1 have been provided on the following Chowks :-

• Baldi By-pass
• ITI Chowk
• Nirmal Kutia Chowk
• Sector-6 Chowk
• Devi Lal Chowk

A challaning branch has also been established in Sector 6, Karnal. All challan of M.V. Act are compounded in this branch.

The main object of Karnal Traffic Police is to provide better traffic management to commuters and reduce accident and make Karnal roads safe and friendly.
